Before Mowazen

If this is how your books are run, you're not alone

  1. 01Purchase invoices in a drawer, receipts scattered across WhatsApp chats.
  2. 02You remember the VAT return two days before it's due.
  3. 03You worry about late-filing penalties and aren't sure your numbers are right.
  4. 04You don't know your real net profit for this month.
  5. 05A full-time accountant costs more than your business can justify.

Mowazen takes all of this off your plate, for one monthly price, so you can run your business.

A team in the Kingdom

Your accountant is here in Saudi Arabia, not on the other side of the world

Many online accounting services cut costs by outsourcing the work to accountants abroad. At Mowazen, every accountant who works on your books lives in Saudi Arabia, works your days on your clock, and knows the market you operate in.

Why we chose this

How it works

From the first call to your first month-end close

  1. 1

    Free intro call

We learn about your business, transaction volume and tax position, and tell you plainly whether the plan fits.

  2. 2

    Set up your accounting software

We build a chart of accounts for your business, enter opening balances, and configure tax and invoicing settings.

  3. 3

    Send documents as they are

Snap a receipt and upload it to the software, which reads its QR code, or send it to your accountant. Export your bank statement as CSV each month.

  4. 4

    Monthly close and report

We close the month, send you the reports and a summary of the key numbers, and flag anything that needs your approval before ZATCA deadlines.

How we work, in detail

The software

Your books live in cloud accounting software, not a spreadsheet on your accountant's laptop

We work on cloud accounting software called Accrufy, in Arabic and English and built for Saudi businesses. The subscription is included in the plan, and everything your accountant records, you see the moment it's recorded.

About the software
  • Access any time

Log in whenever you like and review invoices, entries and reports yourself.

  • Audit log

Every addition or change is recorded with who made it and when.

  • Compliant invoices

Arabic and English tax invoices with a QR code, locked once posted.

  • Receipt scanning

Upload a photo of a receipt and the software reads its QR code and records the expense.

The software currently covers Phase 1 of e-invoicing. Integration with the Fatoora platform (Phase 2) is not available in it yet, and we'll let you know well before it applies to your business.

All questions

What does the SAR 800 cover?

Bookkeeping, preparing and filing VAT returns, the annual zakat return, bank reconciliation, monthly financial reports, receivables and payables follow-up, a dedicated accountant and the cloud accounting software subscription. It does not include an external audit of your financial statements.

Is there a setup fee or a charge per return?

No. Setting up your accounting software and all VAT and zakat returns are covered by the monthly price.

Do you file the VAT return on my behalf?

Yes. We prepare the return and review it with you, and once you approve it we file it with ZATCA before the deadline.

Where are the accountants who work on my books?

All of them are in Saudi Arabia. We don't outsource any part of the work on our clients' books to teams outside the Kingdom.
